Geozo stands for safe advertising and carefully monitors the quality of our content.

Our goal is to help publishers and advertisers to maximize their returns, to meet their expectations and to take into consideration all our clients' preferences.

In order to make this possible, we do the following:

  • We post news and / or product ads, providing flexible selection of advertising materials in accordance with the requests of our publishers;

  • We help advertisers to select the ads of the appropriate rating in order to attract the target audience.

To solve these tasks we rank ads according to the principle described below. Now, let’s review these ad types from high to low.

PG Ad type (Parental Guidance Suggested) – for all ages under parental guidance

We place well-designed, relevant and balanced ads with moderate content into this rating.

The following ads are not allowed in the PG ad type:

  • With sexual subtext;

  • Containing shock images of mutilations, injuries, illnesses, death-related themes, unappealing photos of stars and politicians, etc.;

  • With provocative and shocking headlines, for example: “The Government struck a blow at the citizens”, “A heavy sin: everyone makes this mistake being at the cemetery”,

  • In the title of which there are colloquial words, expressions, abbreviations, slang;

  • Containing figures of speech, the sole purpose of which is to draw viewers’ attention, for example: “You won’t believe it”, “You will be very surprised”, “Everyone gasped”, “They can’t hide it anymore”, etc.;

  • Containing personal characteristics, for example: “For everyone over 40”;

  • Containing low quality images, including those made with Adobe Photoshop.

PG13 Ad type – appropriate for children under 13

The characteristics of ads which we place into this rating are high quality and have integrity.

However, PG13 ad type allows small deviations from the requirements of the PG ad type, namely:

  • Usage of figures of speech (which shouldn’t be rude), expressions to attract attention, storytelling in headlines;

  • Moderately usage of Photoshop tools;

  • Usage of personal characteristics.

Please, be aware that shocking, provocative images and headlines with sexual subtext do not fall under this rating and are ranked differently.

R Ad type (Restricted) – under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian

R-ranked ads are those designed for a wide audience and characterized by:

  • Usage of colloquial words, slang, catchy headlines;

  • Being intentionally irrelevant, containing fictional stories and fictional characters;

  • Having images of bare areas of the body (which are not provocative);

  • Medium quality images.

We note that this rating, similarly to PG and PG13 ad types, does not include images and headlines which turn to be shocking or have sexual subtext.

NC17 Ad type (No one 17 and under admitted) – shocking content

This rating is only for moderately shocking content.

Please note that the policies of Geozo prohibit the promotion of materials that are unnecessarily shocking and frightening. You can learn more about this by clicking the link.

NSFW Ad type (Not Safe For Web) – with sexual subtext

This rating includes ads with “adult” topics. Here it is possible to use images and headings of a sexual manner.

Please note that the Geozo's policies prohibit the promotion of pornographic and vulgar materials, as well as those promoting 18+ goods and services. You can learn more about these rules by clicking the link.

How do we assign a rating?

Please note that the final rating of an ad is equally affected by both its title and image. During the ad's moderation we evaluate the ad in a complex way, analyzing both subjects.

The final rating is assigned according to the following principle: a lower rating always prevails over a higher one.

Let's look at the examples:

Geozo's content moderation ranks landing pages on a similar basis as it does with the ads.
